Essay Reflection

In my final Essay Rewrite, I wrote how the ongoing argument regarding whether the incorporation of AI is more beneficial or detrimental to corporate communities is one that will never end. In presenting my points, I used Stanley Fish’s Winning Arguments to describe how arguments function, specifically in the AI debate. I put most of my emphasis on not taking sides but analyzing how each side presents its arguments. I realized the importance of taking a step back and looking at situations from an outside perspective, without taking sides. When all the facts are laid out on the table it is easier to make a balanced and justified stance on the topic.

Some of the major changes were restructuring parts of the essay to make it more fluid and easier to understand. I also explained more of my assertions, writing why I thought this perspective was important to have and why it should be viewed in that certain way. Of the minor changes, such as grammar and citations, I tried my best to make the essay sound more formal and professional- a problem I understand I have. However, I did keep some of my own tone to, in a way, personalize my paper. Furthermore, I made sure to include some of the broader implications of the AI debate, such as human reliance on technology and making sure humans continue to maintain control over their technological progressions. Ultimately, the essay was very enlightening in regards to how AI affects humans, specifically in the workplace.
